Write the comparison page AI actually cites

"Best X" and "X vs Y" are exactly the buyer questions AI assistants answer by synthesizing comparison content. Build the real structure below, honestly, with real competitors named.

The short version
  1. "X vs Y" and "best X for Y" questions get answered by synthesizing across comparison-style content, not by picking one ranked link.
  2. A comparison page earns that citation with real structure: named alternatives, explicit criteria, a clear verdict, not by quietly ranking your own product first.
  3. Fill in your product, your real competitors, and your comparison criteria below to generate a ready outline.

Why comparison content specifically gets synthesized

A real study of 10,000 LLM citations for high-intent SaaS prompts found listicle-formatted content dominates citations across every query type studied, and specifically for "alternatives"-style queries, the same shape of question as "X vs Y," 70% of AI citations came from listicles, the highest share of any query type in the research. The study didn't separately isolate head-to-head comparison pages from other listicle formats, so treat that as directionally supportive, not a stat about "vs" pages specifically, but the underlying reason is intuitive either way: a question shaped like a comparison gets answered with content shaped like a comparison.

This is a different problem from diagnosing why an assistant currently recommends your competitor instead of you, that's about closing your own gap on the signals AI already relies on. This is about the content itself: writing the comparison your buyers are already asking for, instead of leaving that answer entirely to someone else's page.

The one rule that matters most: never fabricate a competitor claim

Every specific factual claim you make about a competitor (a price, a feature, an integration) needs to be verified against that competitor's own current pricing or docs page before you publish it, and linked to as your citation. Prices and features change; a claim that was true six months ago and wrong today is worse than no claim at all, and it's a real credibility and legal risk, not just a rough edge. If you're not sure, say so plainly or leave it out rather than guess.

What makes a verdict credible instead of promotional

FAQ

Will a comparison page hurt me by naming real competitors?

No. Buyers are already asking these comparison questions, and AI assistants are already answering them from whatever sources exist, a comparison page you control lets you answer fairly and specifically rather than leaving the answer entirely to someone else's version.

Should the verdict always pick my own product?

No. An honest, sometimes-conditional verdict, where you say who a competitor is genuinely better for, reads as credible; an unconditional recommendation for yourself reads as marketing and tends to get weighted less as a synthesis source.

How do I make sure competitor claims are accurate?

Verify every specific claim, price, feature, integration, against that competitor's own current pricing or docs page before publishing, and link to that page as your citation. An outdated or wrong specific claim is a real, avoidable credibility and legal risk.

Does this tool check my competitor's actual features or pricing for me?

No. It only generates the structural outline. The actual claims about each option are yours to research and verify before filling them in.
