FAQ
Straight answers about AI visibility.
What does GapCite actually measure?
GapCite measures whether AI assistants surface your brand when answering real, unbranded, buying-intent questions. Your overall visibility score is the percentage of validated questions that surfaced your brand, with a per-engine breakdown and a trend over time. Asking an assistant about your company by name tests retrieval, not whether a buyer would discover you.
Which AI engines can I track without a sales call?
Starter ($29/mo): 4 engines-ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini. Growth ($69/mo): 7-adds Grok, Mistral, DeepSeek. Pro ($119/mo): 8-adds Google's AI Overview. Scale ($259/mo): the same 8 engines across 3 projects/brands. Every tier is self-serve; no sales call required.
How are questions generated and validated?
GapCite combines questions generated from your page content with real category questions mined from Google People-Also-Ask data, StackExchange, and SEO keyword research. Every candidate is then tested against real AI engines. If it does not reliably surface a known real brand, it is flagged rather than silently reported as a confident zero. This uses the round-trip validation approach found in published information-retrieval research, including Promptagator/InPars; it does not assume every generated question is a useful measurement.
How does competitor tracking work?
You can optionally provide competitors during setup. GapCite tracks competitors as real entities in the same queries used to measure your brand, then shows the comparison in your dashboard. This avoids relying on an auto-suggested or assumed competitor list, which can miss real competitors in a given niche. GapCite's same-query tracking and question validation instead measure who actually gets surfaced, rather than treating an untested competitor assumption as reliable.
What does each paid plan include?
Starter: $29/mo, 15 tracked prompts, 4 engines. Growth: $69/mo, 50 tracked prompts, 7 engines. Pro: $119/mo, 100 tracked prompts, 8 engines. Scale: $259/mo, 100 tracked prompts, 8 engines across 3 projects/brands instead of 1. Every tier includes self-serve signup without a sales call, question validation, competitor tracking, and a visibility trend dashboard.
Can I try GapCite before choosing a paid plan?
Yes. Visit gapcite.com/aivisibility for a completely free single-page AI visibility scan, with no signup cost and no credit card. It tests Perplexity and Gemini using the same validation pipeline as the paid product. Some results appear as a locked preview; the scanner is a sample of the measurement, not a substitute for the paid product's broader engine coverage and ongoing trends.
How often is my brand checked?
GapCite checks your tracked questions weekly across the engines your plan includes. The engineering tradeoff is scheduled trend measurement rather than continuous monitoring: repeating the tracked question set builds a comparable history, but changes between runs will not appear until the next check. The cadence is a supporting mechanic; question validation and consistent measurement are what make the results worth interpreting.
